Why this site exists
The same handful of marquee rooms with publicists get covered to exhaustion, while the neighborhood spots locals drive across town for on a Tuesday night stay buried under sponsored listings on the platforms most people search.
Most coverage of this city leads with celebrity chefs and treats everything east of Downtown as an afterthought. That's backwards. The real map runs through Koreatown's KBBQ counters, the San Gabriel Valley's regional-Chinese depth, East LA's taquerias, Thai Town, Little Ethiopia, Tehrangeles, Historic Filipinotown, and Long Beach's Cambodia Town. We built this guide because Alhambra, Monterey Park, Glendale, Torrance, and Inglewood are separate cities with their own food cultures, not footnotes to LA, and a locals-first guide has to treat them that way.
